The Area - Private Villas In Lanzarote
Shopping: Nazaret has a well stocked and friendly store open 9am-1pm and 4-8pm (closed Saturday after 2pm and all day Sundays). The nearest major supermarket - Eurospar - on the outskirts of Arrecife is open throughout the day, is about 10 minutes drive and accepts credit cards, though you may be asked to show your passport if using a credit card.
Stunning Scenery & Beautiful Beaches
Eating out: Lagomar restaurant, within walking distance of Villa Elena, is good (you walk downhill after eating !), while the Sociedad (village social club) is excellent value, including take-away meals. Teguise, the islands ancient capital nearby, has several good restaurants, as has upmarket Costa Teguise, with its beaches, shops and bars - about 10kms distance. Puerto del carmen, the biggest resort, with extensive beaches and restaurants is further away - about 35 minutes drive.
There are several pleasant eating places at Famara on the North Coast, which boasts a surfing beach. Generally, Lanzarote has many value-for-money restaurants - some specialising in fish, as at Arrieta on the coast to the east of Costa Teguise. The island's scenic attractions include the 'Fire Mountain' (in the North-West).
